Natalia Barr is a music and culture writer based in New York. In May 2018, she graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she concentrated in music journalism through the lens of gender and sexuality. Her work has been featured in publications such as Rolling Stone, Interview Magazine, Consequence of Sound, and Paste. She is most passionate about considering the social power and implications music has, taking pop music and primarily female fan bases seriously, providing a voice for non cisgender male artists (without asking them what it’s like to not be a cisgender male artist), and remembering all the cringeworthy culture we consumed in our early teens that we’re sometimes too embarrassed to talk about (check out her zine, Heart Factory, for more about that).
